We have an interloper! No jk.

Salt or snow? Is the question.

Looking back up, got a few friends walking down the side of the road.

Salar de Atacama — Salt Flats

More Salt Flats…

In the background, the flats are incredibly reflective

I jumped into this baby — Ojos del salado — that was my 2015 polar plunge
IMG_1334
This body of water was pretty cool too — It is another salt flat, but just beneath the surface of the flat, the water is incredibly warm — I guess you could call it a hot spring.

Flamingo spotting in Salar de Atacama!

Muy bonita, la vista.

Another awkward interloper

I dare you to lick the salt
IMG_1361
That is snow on those mountains, not salt.

While heading up to Laguna Miscanti, I got this beaut.
IMG_1374
…Aaaand this one.
IMG_1382
Et voila! Laguna Miscanti
IMG_1399
Shoulda stayed there longer to hike this baby. We were at over 4,000 meters at this point, probs would have taken a couple of days to acclimate to this new altitude.

Altitude sickness, meet your enemy.
IMG_1402
So great story: our bus broke down and we were stuck up near Laguna Miscanti for a few hours. Basically everyone suffered a little bit of altitude sickness (some worse than others). I ended up hiking up the hills a few times to find bathroom places, and I also got this nice pano.
IMG_1416
Last day in San Pedro — looking down onto this nice valley with what appears to be an actual body of water. Cray man.
IMG_1421
Ruining the view, sorry.
IMG_1422
Seriously though, get out Brennie.

Flying back to Santiago, goodbye desert.
